Paper Pumpkin

These were from the Paper Pumpkin kit that arrived in January. These little treat bags were a lifesaver! I needed valentine treats for everyone at work, and between work and school didn't have time to get creative. Paper Pumpkin to the rescue!

Be Happy

This cold, winter weather is for the birds. Yeah, I know, I live in the midwest, I should be used to it by now! But enough focusing on the negatives of winter. I made a card today to make us all happy!

This is my favorite set from the 2015 Occasions Catalog. It is called Hello Life. Walking outside would make me happy, but since I'm not crazy enough to do that, I'm going to do have to go do the other thing that makes me happy...STAMP! Hey, the card told me to!

Inspiration

When you start creating, where do you get your inspiration from? You may stare at your supplies waiting for them to speak to you, you might turn to the catalog or Pinterest. Inspiration can come from anywhere! Today at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration, our designers were inspired by this picture from westelm.com.

My color inspiration came from the wall, sectional and throw pillow. The design for my card mainly came from the throw pillow and the vase of flowers.

Celebrate Today

Are you ready to celebrate? Today let's celebrate baby. No reason, I had just already made enough birthday cards with this set, I felt like I should mix it up.

This card features the Celebrate Today Photopolmyer Bundle, available for $36.25 in Stampin' Up!'s Occasions catalog. The bundle includes the Celebrate Today stamp set which covers wedding, birthday, & baby; as well as the coordinating Balloon Framelits.

There are several more bundles available in the Occasions catalog. When you purchase a bundle, you save 15% versus if you purchased the items individually. See some of the other bundles in action at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration.

All About the Love

Have you heard of My Paper Pumpkin? It's a great monthly subscription service that Stampin' Up! offers with a new surprise kit each time! The January kit was Filled With Love and came with 24 cello bags, toppers, hearts, banner tags, gold clips and special baker's twine. Since I really don't have 24 people to give treats to, I used part of it to make a card!

Here's the treat bag that I made:

Did I mention that My Paper Pumpkin also comes with stamps each month? Everything you see in this picture came in the kit, except the candy hearts.

Da da dum. And now for the card.

The twine, clip, tag, and heart and the Love stamp were all in the Filled With Love kit, along with a Real Red ink spot. This card also features a Bermuda Bay card base, Melon Mambo embossed with the Happy Heart folder, and the Bermuda Bay sequin trim.

There's more love for you at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration today!

Technique Tuesday - Floating Window Card

We have a super fun technique to share with you at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration today. It's called a Floating Window Card. Make sure to stop over at SSINK today as one of our own created a tutorial to share with you.

When I was designing this in my mind, I kept trying to figure out which stamp set I had that would work well. Then it hit me. Lotus Blossoms float on water. I knew immediately that Lost Lagoon would be my card base.

A tip: I have had my Rotary Blade on my Stampin' Trimmer since I ordered it. For this technique, it was easiest to put the original cutting arm back on and use the original blade that comes with the trimmer.

  • Lost Lagoon card base - 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" - scored at 4-1/4" with window cut out
  • Whiper White card stock 1" x 5-1/2"
  • Remember This stamp set
  • Lost Lagoon ink
  • Mosaic punch
  • Basic Rhinstones
  • Wisteria Wonder blendabilites - Dark
  • Whisper White card stock scraps
  • Lotus Blossom stamp set
  • Pink Pirouette ink
  • Strawberry Slush ink
  • Stampin' Trimmer

#SSINKCC18 - Color Challenge

When I started creating color combinations for our monthly challenges, I wanted to make sure that we used all of Stampin' Up!'s colors before I started repeating any of them. These were the last three colors that I had left to use. I thought it was going to be weird, but when I started working with these colors, they actually complement each other really well!

Here is the card that I had a blast making!

I used a whole lot of emboss resist today! The background paper is the fabulous Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper that you can get for FREE during Sale-A-Bration! You get 12 sheets of DSP that is all white and then you can color it however you like. In this case I sponged it with Tangelo Twist ink. There are six different embossed designs with it.

I stamped the Watercolor Thank You stamp on Whisper White card stock with Versamark ink and then embossed it with the Clear Embossing Powder. Then I sponged over it with Coastal Cabana ink. I finished it off with two white Candy Dots from the Neutrals pack. Voila, there you have it. Quick, easy and colorful!

Please check out what the other designers did with this fun color combo. We'd also love to have you play along with our challenge if you're so INKspired.
